Grand Central Terminal has turned into a love letter to New York! 💗 For two weeks, “Dear New York,” a massive public art installation from Humans of New York creator Brandon Stanton, will fill the terminal’s 150 digital screens with portraits and stories of everyday New Yorkers. 🖼️ (ARTnews)
It’s the first time the MTA has unified all its digital displays across both the terminal and subway concourse for art instead of ads.
Stanton said his goal is simple: “If even one person pauses and feels something — connection, solitude, a thought they’ve never had before — that’s my artistic goal.”
Last time we mentioned the Yankees playoff game, they won. So here’s hoping for a similar result: The Yankees play the Toronto Blue Jays in the Bronx tonight at 8pm in a win-or-go-home game. Here’s how to watch. ⚾ (USA Today)
Not a baseball fan but have baseball fan friends? Here’s the top storyline for all teams playing today so you can impress ’em.

No Report, No Problem: Tracking NYC Tech Jobs
Normally today we would dive into the latest jobs report (which gets published the first Friday of every month). But with the federal government shut down, that report is delayed.
Have no fear: That doesn’t mean we can’t give you insight into the state of tech jobs across the city and country. 💼
🔍 What we’re seeing: NYC has managed to stay resilient, and local demand for in-person talent remains strong.
The Tech:NYC Jobs Board currently lists 3,300+ active roles from 400 tech companies, spanning startups, large tech firms, and fintech — all focused on in-person NYC placements.
In the last two months alone, our members are hiring for ~60,000 tech jobs globally (!).
Top job functions posted by companies from the last two months: Software engineering (33,200 occurrences), IT (19,000), and operations (12,400).
Top job functions searched from candidates: Marketing/communications, product, software engineering.
📈 AI hiring is still surging nationwide: And New York looks poised to reap the benefits.
Nationwide, the U.S. added 26,715 new AI-related jobs in August — with New York ranking among the top states for AI hiring intensity and role diversification.
Since January 2018, NY ranks third in AI jobs growth with 97,000 AI jobs.
AI job demand is expanding into industries like finance, media, and healthtech — AKA a trifecta of NYC strengths.
